~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
What this software does
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
This application is a front end for either of the authors
surface plotting applications, viz. !Surface or !3DPlotter.
It allows you to enter a function, z=f(x,y) in BASIC format,
and will then produce a file in the correct format for
loading into the actual surface plotting programs. If one of
these programs is active at the same time as 3DFnEdit, then
the data file is transferred transparently, using the
Desktop message transfer facilities. The data files can also
be saved in ASCII format.
Running 3DFnEdit
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Double clicking on the !3DFnEdit icon in a directory viewer
will install its icon on the icon bar. Clicking on the
iconbar icon will open a dialogue window to enter the
function. A previous data file can also be loaded for
editing by standard drag and drop. Since the data file is of
text file type, it is not possible to double click to load
it.
Full interactive help is available, via !Help or
!BubbleHelp.
